Common Questions

1. I just voided one package in a MULTIPLE-package shipment. Now I can't find the rest. How can I void the other packages in this multi-package shipment?

ANSWER: You just did. Take a look at the airbill labels. Each package in the muti-package shipment will have a different PACKAGE ID number, but they will all have the same SHIPMENT ID. Since PostalMate voids packages by using SHIPMENT IDs, when you void one SHIPMENT ID, you void all packages in the shipment.

2. How do I advance the computer to the next shipping day?

- SAME AS-

3. How do I send the tracking information to DHL, FedEx (NOT UPS)?

Take a look at PostalMate's main screen, the same screen you see when the program loads. To the right of the meter reading, there are a series of buttons. Find the one with the picture of a truck. Click on that button.

You will now see a screen of different carriers. Select the carrier that you want to advance. BUT KEEP IN MIND that you cannot transmit the UPS information via PostalMate. You must use UPS Worldship to transmit the tracking and billing information to UPS. After you select a carrier, hit the "next" button.

Follow the instructions on PostalMate. Since we only have one-pick up a day, I usually skip this screen. The default setting should be "Yes, this is our last pick-up today." Go to the next screen.

You will be asked to verify the number of packages the computer counted with the number actually present on the carts. We skip this part too, sometimes taking note of the number. An average day is 30 packages for DHL.

You have just advanced that carrier to the next day. Repeat for all other carriers.

4. How do I transmit billing/tracking information to UPS?

This operation can only be done via UPS Worldship. To begin, make sure you are in Worldship. To the right of the VOID icon/ (a red "X") there is a button that reads "End of Day." Click this button.
